Greenwood---Martin Luther Adams, 71, died at 5:30pm Saturday in a Columbia hospital after five years of declining health and an illness of a month.
A native of Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Lafayette and Frances Wells Adams. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood County and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Durst Avenue Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Ouzts; four sons, Ryan T.; Roy O; M. L. and Brantley O. Adams, all of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. George Butler of Saluda, and Mrs. Jewel Owens of Clinton; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm Sunday at Harley Funeral Home by Rev. A. A. Padgett, Rev. George L. Britt and Rev. Thomas G. Rogers. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Homer, James, Robert and Ferrell Adams, Edward Pace, and Ray Ouzts and Douglas Cooper.
Honorary escort will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Durst Avenue Church of God.
The body is at the funeral home and the family is at the home of a son, Ryan T. Adams.
