Lera Radford Handy, 91, of Ferrum, passed away November 3, 1998, in the local hospital. Born May 24, 1907, she was a daughter of Elkanah and Margaret Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abe Handy. Surviving are her children, a daughter, Mrs. Wilbert (Vera) Thompson of Ferrum; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Abe (Bucky) Handy and Dubby; five grandchildren, Mrs. Gary (Sue) Yearout, Mrs. Allen (Linda) McKinney, Mrs. Dugan (Carolyn) Bohon, Eddie Handy and Mrs. Terry (Vickie) Thompson; eight great-grandchildren, Lee Yearout, Beth and Bruce McKinney, Andy and Daniel Bohon, Nash Handy, Jonathan and T. J. Thompson; two great-great-granddaughters, Anna Marie McKinney and Jordan Taylor Handy. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
