Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Jeanard M. Aafedt, 66, of Havre. He died Wednesday in Havre. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home and burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Aafedt was born and raised in Rugby, N.D. He worked as truck driver, heavy equipment operator, farmer, mechanic and operated a concrete plant. In 1941, he went to Alaska to work on defense projects and returned to Rugby in 1943. He later moved to Billings where he married Theresa Belgard on Feb. 1, 1945. They moved to Havre where he worked for the Great Northern Railway for seven years and then in construction until his retirement in 1982.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald. Survivors include his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. Joe Herkal of Minneapolis; sons, Ronald and Jeanard, Jr., both of Anchorage, Alaska; Mark of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Darryl of Havre; daughter, Julie Overcast of Cut Bank; sister, Bernice Stephens of Grand Forks, N.D.; and a brother, Sam, of Las Vegas, Nev.
