Lewistown--Richard Murphy, 82, died Friday at St. Joseph's hospital in Lewistown, following a brief illness.
Mr. Murphy was born July 2, 1861, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Murphy in Atlanta, Idaho. He came to Utica as a child. Later he was active in ranching with his brother, the late Jim Murphy. He retired from ranching and moved to Lewistown in 1956.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are a nephew, Raymond Swanz, Utica, and a niece, Mrs. Eileen Rader of Lewistown.
Rosary will be recited at Creel-Newton-Retz funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Utica cemetery.
