C.C. Abel of Ollie, Killed; Hit by Train at Fredonia while visiting in home of his Daughter.

C.C. Abel, age 81, a native resident of Jackson Township, was killed last Friday afternoon, Christmas day, while visiting in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Bush, in Fredonia.

He was killed by a train, while walking along the track about 4:00 o'clock. Hard of hearing, the Ollie man failed to hear the train and was crushed when he was thrown and carried about 40 feet along the track where he was hit. He received a deep gash on his skull and a number of bones in his body were broken.

Mr. Abel was the father of one daughter, Mrs, Bush, and four sons, Elmer Abel of Salem, Merle Abel of Ollie, Earl Abel of Oakaloosa and Marion Abel of Winfield.

The funeral services was held Saturday afternoon at the Ollie Babtist Church, and interment was made in the Church of the Brethren near Ollie.
