Mrs. Lester Ray Morris

GARFIED - Opal Morris, 80, died July 2, 1987, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned. Born Opal Keller July 30, 1906, at Garfield, she married John Abendeshien June 1, 1930, at Greensburg. He died April 24, 1944. She married Lester Ray Morris Jan. 25, 1947, at Larned. He died Aug. 17, 1962. She was city librarian for Garfield and was a lifetime resident of Garfield.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned, Green Thumb Club, United Methodist Woman and was a charter member of the Over 50 Club, all of Garfield.

Survivors: daughter, Sandra Jean Stanley, Catoosa, Okla.; step-daughter, Mary Nadine McNutt, Kinsley; brother, Arthur Keller, Garfield; sister, Ruby McAlister, Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, the Revs. Ronald Keith and Donald O'Hara. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery.
