Walter A. Rime, age 69, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas.
Walter was born May 13, 1940, at Garrison, North Dakota to M. Russel and Laura (Hultberg) Rime, Emmet, North Dakota. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1959. He spent his earlier years farming with his father on the family farm. He joined North Dakota National Guard in 1957, and was called for active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1962. On November 23,1968 he married Oleeta Kinn. In 1970 he began his career as a welder in the construction of power plants and other large projects throughout the United States. He was a member of the ND Iron Workers Local 793 and Pipefitters Local 300.
He is survived by his wife, Oleeta of Underwood, ND; daughter, Kristina (Trent) Cottingham of Owatonna, MN; son, Reid (Sherry) Rime of Boerne, TX; mother, Laura Rime of Garrison, ND; granddaughters, Alyssa and Katie Cottingham, and Lillian Rime; step-grandsons, Caylin Cottingham, Travis and Michael Shewmaker; brothers, Raymond (Cathy), Tony, & Larry (Connie); sister, Lona (Brock) Affeldt; sisters-in-law, Geline Johnson, Lucille (Robert) Johnson, and Palma Levey; brothers-inlaw, Wendell, Marvin (Joan), and Curtis (Val) Kinn, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; father, Russel Rime; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ole & Lillian Kinn; brothers-in-law Donald Johnson and Eugene Levey; and his grandparents.
