Longtime Weskan, Kansas resident Thelma Fern Agnew, 96, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Keefe Memorial Hospital at Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.

She was born August 12, 1915, at Nekoma, Kansas, the daughter of Katherine (Erdsieck) and Eldon H. Campbell. She attended grade school at Nekoma and graduated from high school at LaCrosse.

On July 8, 1934, she and George W. Agnew were married at Jetmore, and they made their home at Weskan. She was a member of the Weskan United Methodist Church, and then the Weskan Bible Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband George Agnew, one son Alfred Agnew, and one grandson Robert Valentine.

Surviving family includes her children, thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters; and her husband; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 3, at 2:00 PM MT, at the Weskan Bible Church, with Pastor Tim Cress officiating. Burial will follow in the Weskan Cemetery.

Friends may share their respects on Wednesday, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM MT, at Koons Funeral Home in Sharon Springs.

Memorials may be designated to the Weskan School or the Weskan Bible Church, and may be left at Koons Funeral Home in Sharon Springs, or mailed to Koons Funeral Home, 211 N. Main, Goodland, KS 67735-1555.
