MRS JOHN HETLER DIED SUDDENLY AT FARM HOME - was stricken shortly after return from church service.


Mrs Lusetta Miller Hetler passed away at the family home east of this city on the River road this morning at 3:15., her death being very unexpected.

Mrs. Hetler attended services at the St. Paul's Lutheran church last evening and apparently was in her usual health when she returned home about 10:30. Shortly after midnight she was taken violently ill and a physician was summoned. Her condition appeared to improve but she suffered another attack at an early hour this morning and expired.

Lusetta Miller was born in Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA., Oct. 22, 1858. At the age of seven years she came west with her family and has continued to reside in this community every since. She was united in marriage to the late John Hetler October 24, 1881. Her husband passed away July 25 of last year.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Della May, Mrs. Nellie Heckman, two sons Harry and John, all of Dixon township. One sister, Mrs. Fred Hill; two brothers, S. M. Miller and B. F. Miller and 13 grandchildren, all of Dixon township. Five brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Paul's Lutheran church Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Lloyd W. Walter officiating and with interment in Oakwood. Dixon Evening Telegraph Dixon IL Sat April 4 1931, pg 1.

Dixon marriage record shows Lusetta Miller and John Hetler married Oct. 24, 1882 in Dixon, IL. by Rev. L. L. Lipe, pastor of Lutheran Church. Witnesses: Mary S. Lipe, wife of L. L. Lipe and W.A.Lipe, a pastor, brother of L. L. Lipe. Lucetta's residence was Nachusa and John's residence was Dixon.
Besides Harry and Nellie Hetler as shown on this cemetery record, they had 6 other children: Della(Hetler)May (twin) 1883-1972 buried in Oakwood cemetery.
Schelby (male twin) 1883-1884, Mary 1886-1886, Grant 1888-1889, Nora 1891-1891, John Miller Hetler 1899-1982. Schelby, Mary, Grant and Nora are buried in a row in the Hetler plot in Oakwood cemetery. John Miller Hetler is buried in Oakwood cemetery separately.
