Martha Abigail "Mollie" Thunderburk wed Isaac Franklin Abercrombie in 1871 at St. Clair, Co., AL. She was the d/o Jake Thunderburk who was born in N.C.

At the time of the marriage, Isaac was living at home with his mother, Nancy Jane (Dowdy) Abercrombie and was farming the old homestead on Wolf Creek Road, St. Clair Co., AL.

The 1880 US census of Dunlap, St. Clair Co., AL enumerated 26 Y/O Isaac Franklin Abercrombie owning his own farm. He and his 23 Y/O wife, Mollie, had 3 children living in the household: 6 Y/O Nancy Jane Abercrombie; 4 Y/O Martha Ann Abercrombie and 1 Y/O Joseph M. Abercrombie. Also living in the household was Isaac's widowed mother, 60 Y/O Nancy Jane (Dowdy) Abercrombie.

Judging from the progressive birth places and birth dates of their children, Isaac and his family remained in St. Clair Co., AL until November 1888, the birth date and place of their son, James Harrison Abercrombie, and moved to McNairy Co., TN (southern Tennessee) prior to 09 May 1896, the birth date and birth place of their daughter, Fannie F. Abercrombie.

The 1900 US Census of McNairy Co., TN enumerated the household of 46 Y/O Isaac F. Abercrombie, a farmer born in AL, and his 44 Y/O wife, Martha Abigail "Mollie" (Thunderburk) Abercrombie, born in GA. Also in the household were their children: 19 Y/O Joseph M. Abercrombie, a farm laborer born in AL; 16 Y/O Ella Abercrombie, a farm laborer born in AL; 11 Y/O James Harrison Abercrombie, a farm laborer born in AL, and 4 Y/O Fannie F. Abercrombie, born in Tennessee. NOTE: Living next door was the household of 26 Y/O Joel D. Smith, a farmer born in AL, and his 22 Y/O wife, Martha Ann (Abercrombie) Smith. Martha was a daughter of Isaac Franklin Abercrombie and Martha Abigail (Thunderburk) Abercrombie.

The 1910 US Census of Civil District 9, of McNairy Co., TN enumerated the household of 56 Y/O Isaac Abercrombie, a farmer, and his 54 Y/O wife, "Molsie A." (Martha Abigail "Mollie" (Thunderburk) Abercrombie. Also residing in the household were their children: Joseph M. Abercrombie, a farm laborer; 14 Y/O Fannie F. Abercrombie, a farm laborer and 6 Y/O Delsie M. Abercrombie.

The 1920 US Census of Civil District 9, of McNairy Co., TN enumerated the household of 65 Y/O Isaac Abercrombie, a farmer, and his 63 Y/O wife, Abigail Abercrombie. Their 38 Y/O unmarried son, Joseph M. Abercrombie, was still living in the household and was working as a farm laborer.

Following the 17 Mar 1929 death of Isaac Franklin Abercrombie, the April 1930 US Census of District 9, NcNairy Co., TN enumerated the household of his son, 49 Y/O unmarried Joseph M. Abercrombie, a farmer. Also living in the household was his 72 Y/O widowed mother, Martha Abigail Abercrombie. Joseph M. Abercrombie died on 08 July 1930 probably from a stroke.

The attached 09 Sep 1937 McNairy County, Tennessee death certificate of Martha Abigail "Mollie" (Funderburk) Abercrombie records her as the widow of I. F. Abercrombie (Isaac Franklin Abercrombie). The death certificate informant was Nancy Jane (Abercrombie) Watson, her daughter, of Selmer, McNairy Co., TN. (NOTE: Although her maiden name is recorded as "Thunderburk" on her death certificate, there is a chance this an error and her maiden name may have been "Thunderberg".
