Evelyn Medora Abrams was born January 20, 1927 in Trion, GA. She was the ninth child of Maggie Jane Frazier Abrams and Robert Franklin Abrams.

Medora, as she was called, never married. She cared for her Mother, Janie, until her death in 1979.

Medora never used the name Evelyn. She had her grave marker made to show her name as Medora E. Abrams.
