MOUNT MORRIS- Mrs. Ernest Abbott died suddenly early Sunday morning in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Hultquist, with whom she had lived the past 25 years.
She was born April 25, 1878, in Freeport Center, the daughter of Henry and Susanna Humfrey Zelle. She married to Ernest Abbott who worked as a building contractor in Pekin. He died in 1935.
Surviving are a brother, Roy Zelle of Bloomington; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Lucille) Strawhacker of Oakville, Iowa, and Mrs. Hultquist of Mount Morris; 14 grand-children and 43 great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Finch Funeral Home, the Rev. Wilbur Hopkins, pastor of Methodist Church officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Fremont Center. Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home. A Memorial fund is being established.
