She was born June 25, 1922 in Ewing, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clarence F. Abbott and Caroline (Collingsworth) Abbott- Rhynearson.
Lillian was retired from the old Joyce Shoe (old U.S. Shoe) Madison, Indiana. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Austin, Indiana where she was a devoted Christian and taught Sunday School for many years, wrote the columns for Emmanuel & New Providence Baptist Churches in the local papers and was a member of the Quill Poetry Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron O. Reed, who died Nov. 23, 1982; two sons, Jackie Lynn & Bucky Reed; a daughter, Marjorie Reed; a brother, Rev. Thomas W. Abbott and a sister. Dorothy Righthouse.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Ann Dunlap of Crothersville, Indiana; a son, Jerry Lee Reed of Alamogordo, New Mexico; three sisters, Kathleen Trueblood & Caroline Righthouse both of Seymour, Indiana & Esther Ann (Al) Earl of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by 4 grandsons, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
