Young Man Has Eye Injured in Peculiar Accident
Bruce Abnernethy, son of Dr. and Mrs. G. H. Abernethy, of this place, had an eye injured in a rather unusual way, Sunday morning. He was returning from a trip to Panama City, and when a puncture occurred, Bruce was standing nearby while the tire was removed from the wheel. The tool which was being used to remove the tire, broke, and a piece flying through the air, struck Bruce in the eye. His eye-glasses were shattered, and pieces of the glass were driving into the eyeball.
He was hurriedly taken to Dothan, where the injured eye was given treatment, twelve pieces of glass being taken from his eye. He later returned to his parents' home and it will probably be some time before it is known definitely just how serious the injury may be.
