Mrs. Yarborough was born on July 2, 1923, in Wilkes County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha (Shew) Curry. She was a former employee of Winn Dixie for more than 12 years until her retirement in 2000.
Mrs. Yarborough enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, but most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Yarborough is survived by a son, Jerry R. Yarborough Sr. and wife, Emogene of High Point; a grandson, Robert Yarborough Jr. of Colorado; a great-grandson, Robert Blaine Yarborough of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Esther Bennett of Randleman, and Reba Abertheny and Lois Hayes both of N. Wilkesboro; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Curry and a sister Beulah Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Floral Garden Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Fitzgerald officiating.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the employees and staff of River Landing at Sandy Ridge for the care, compassion and love they shared with Mrs. Yarborough. They were a blessing to Mrs. Yarborough and brought great comfort to the family during her stay at River Landing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church TV ministry, 512 N. Main St., High Point, NC, 27260 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262.
