Helen K. Adams, 87, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at GraceMore Nursing and Rehab Facility in Brunswick after a brief stay.

Mrs. Adams was a lifelong resident of Shellman Bluff and was a member of Shellman Bluff Baptist Church. She was an avid outdoors person who dearly loved saltwater fishing and hunting.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, W.R. "Billy" Wilkinson and Cleon A. Adams, both of whom were WWII Veterans; a daughter, Judith A. Wilkinson; and two sisters, Gladys Waters and Hazel Freeman.

She is survived by a son, Billy Wilkinson (Joy) of Shellman Bluff; two grandsons, Will Wilkinson of Raleigh, N.C. and Adam Wilkinson of Shellman Bluff; a sister, Billie Richardson (Tex) of Bush, La; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Shellman Bluff Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shellman Bluff Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Haman officiating. Pallbearers will be David Widincamp, Tim Howard, Jimmy Mason, Carl Speed, Chris Speed and Rodney Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the former Shellman Hunting Club and members of Shellman Bluff Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shellman Bluff Baptist Church Building Fund at 1282 Sutherland Bluff Drive NE, Townsend, GA 31331 or to McIntosh County Volunteer Fire for the Marine, Fire & Rescue Radar at P.O. Box 584, Darien, GA 31305
