Emma Abbott Died Monday in Highland
Word was received by Mrs. Elizabeth Thoele Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Emma Abbott 74 of Pierron, Illinois who died Monday at 24:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's hospital, Highland, Illinois where she had been a patient for the past four weeks. Mrs. Abbott who had been in failing health since last fall had been making her home at St. Mary's Home in Carlyle IL.
Mrs. Abbott was born February 12, 1878 the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Wiwi of Montrose. She was married to William J. Abbott in Teutopolis on 15 Oct 1900, who preceded her in death on June 21st 1942. The Abbotts formerly lived in Teutopolis while Mr. Abbott was agent at the local Pennsylvania railroad.
She is survived by three sons, Alfred of Greencastle, Indiana, Cyril of St. Louis, Tim of Boston, Massachusetts; Two sisters, Miss Elena Wiwi and Mrs. Rose Carter both, of Seymour; Indiana also survive as well as a number of grandchildren. Miss Madge Wiwi a sister of Effingham preceded her death, September 17th, 1951.
Funeral services for Mrs. Abbott will be held this morning at 9 A.M. (DST) in the Immaculate Conception Church with burial in Pierron where the Abbotts resided for many years.
Mrs. Thoele will accompany Robert Flach of Effingham and Ermund Flach of Montrose; nephews of the deceased to Pierron to attend the services.
