Services Thursday for Dorothy Aberg
Funeral services will be held for Dorothy Marie Aberg, 67, of Cresco, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery with Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She died at her home Monday, May 5, 1997, of cancer.
Dorothy was born June 20, 1929, in Cresco the daughter of Ernie and Delia (Davis) Blaser and attended various grade schools here and graduating from Cresco High School in 1946.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Aberg in Richmond, CA, on April 5, 1953. She was a homemaker and then worked at the Evans Rest Home for about 14 years, retiring several years ago.
Dorothy was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years; was a member of the VFW Auxiliary; and she and her husband, Gene, were honored as grand marshals of the Christmas parade in 1994.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, James of Hays, KS; Kirk of San Diego, CA; Donald of Des Moines: one Daughter, Erica Tlusty of Mason City; ten grandchildren; one brother Eugene Blaser of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Catherine Bakke of Lanesboro, MN; Gail Pruitt of Mountain Home, ID; and her step-father, Elmer Klatt of Cresco.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Donald and Gordon Blaser.
