Grade School Girls
Win Foss Tournament


A team composed of the sixth, seventh and eighth grades entered and won the Foss Grade School Invitation Basketball Tournament last week.

To win the tournament the girls defeated a strong team from Port 21 to 18. In the final game of the tournament the girls met an equally competent team in a tall Custer City team. the score of this game was 19 to 14 in favor of the local team.

Players making the trip to Foss are as follows: Lois Harden, Shirley Magar, Ann Overstreet, Delphelina Horstkoetter, Coleene Buttry, Shirley Bradley, Bobbie Sue Barnes, Vera Faye Hudges, Susie Packard, Mary Jo Bledsoe, Floretta Ackley and Patricia Stubblefield.

Floretta Jo Ackley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Ackley, was born March 4, 1937 at Hammon,(sic) Oklahoma. She has attended school at Hammon for 12 years. While in highschool she was in Pep Club and Music. Her ambition is to be a beautician.

Floretta graduated from Hammon High School on May 19, 1955 at 8:30pm

Miss Floretta Jo Ackley and Doyle Seright were married in a single ring ceremony at the hone(sic) of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Seright, Elk City. Rev. H. P. Elliott was the officiating minister. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Emery Ackley Hammon, and the late Emery Ackley.

The bride wore a navy blue two-piece dress with pink accessories. Her corsage was a pink peony.

The only attendants were Mrs. Jim L. Tomberlin, and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Seright.

Mr. and Mrs. Seright have established a residence at Elk City, where Mr. Seright is associated with the Seright Neon Sign Co.

A wedding shower was given Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Seright with Mrs. Jin(sic) L. Tomberlin and Mrs. J. D. Webb, hostesses, in the Tomberlin home.

The refreshments table was covered with a lace cloth, and the center-piece was of pink mums and pink candles. Refreshments of angel food cake and pink punch were served. Mrs. Webb poured punch and Mrs. Tomberlin served the cake.

The couple received many lovely and useful gifts on this occasion.
