Mrs. Sara Frances Daves Aaron of Calhoun, died at the age of 91 at the Northside Hosptial in Atlanta, Ga., after a long illness. She was born in Gordon County on May 23, 1918, daughter of the late Fred Daves Sr. and Mary Chastain Daves of Calhoun and was the sister of the late Fred Daves Jr. of Calhoun.
Sara graduated from Calhoun High School and received her undergraduate degree from Peabody College in Nashville, Tn (now part of Vanderbilt University). She served as a teacher and librarian for the Calhoun City School system for many years, where she often taught two and sometimes three generations of the same family. In 1949 she married Robert Thomas (R.T.) Aaron of Adairsville, Ga. and they had been married for 49 years at the time of his death in 1998. Sara was a loyal and long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun. She is survived by a son ... and a grandchild, ...
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday October 8th. 2009 from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1:30 P.M. on Thursday preceding the funeral service.
