Services for Henry Ackerman were at the Herreid Baptist Church. He died November 22, 1962, at the Mobridge Nursing Home, aged 87. Reverend Alfred Weisser officiated. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
He was born in South Russia September 30, 1875, and came to America in 1896. He married Christina Buckenberger in 1898.
Survivors are four sons, Reinhart of Herreid, Eugene of Dothan, Alabama, Calvin and Walter of Rapid City; four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Irna) Stienecker of Mobridge, Mrs. Peter (Martha) Warhol of Minneapolis, Mrs. Carl (Lena) Hinz of Colton and Mrs. Ernest (Bertha) Bischke of Herreid; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Ackerman of Mobridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1936, one daughter and two sons.
