Samuel Summers, went to greet his Heavenly Father Sunday 1-02-2011. Born to Helen Inez (Willard) and Willie Ross Summers on 1-26-25 in Alexandria, Neb.

Sam served on the Pacific Front in the Navy during WWII. On 6-7-45 Sam and Ruth Law of Belvidere married. Sam was a mechanic who moved to Alexandria to open his garage. He worked in the grain elevator business and retired after driving the Thayer County Senior Diner bus.

Sam and Ruth parented eight children: Susan (Lloyd) Goodson and Cynthia Lugan of Lincoln; Robert (Vickie), Richard, and Steven of Hastings; Dave (Rene' Scheer) and Joseph of Alexandria; and Timothy (Sheryl) of Eagle. They share 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Sam's sister Frances survives him.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, son Andrew Duane, and great granddaughter Faith Summers.

Services will be at the Alexandria Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, 1-6-2011.

Burial will follow at the Public Cemetery.

Price Funeral Home, Hebron, is in charge of services. Memorials to the family for later designation.
