DIGHTON - Everett F. Alexander, 99, died
Oct. 7,1993, at Scott County Hospital,
Scott City. He was born March 16, 1894, in
Franklin County, the son of Fred Edgar and
Nancy Ann McKelvy Alexander.

A Lane County resident since 1925, having
lived in Emporia, he was a mail carrier at
Alamota from 1925 to 1960, and he also
taught school.

He was a member of the American Legion
Post No. 190, Dighton.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I.

Survivors include: a nephew, Wilbur,
Topeka; and two nieces, Gladys Blackburn,
Scott City, and Wilma Mead, Garden City.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the
First Christian Church, Dighton, with the
Rev. Robert Smith presiding. Burial will
be in the Dighton Memorial Cemetery, with
graveside rites by the Dighton American
Legion Post No. 190. Memorials may be sent
to the Lane County Historical Society or
to the J.O.Y. Center or to Park
Lane Nursing Home, all in care of Boomhower
Funeral Home, Dighton.
