Franklin—Mrs. Bertha E. Huff, 83, of Cranberry, widow of William Calvin Huff, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday in the Oil City Hospital where she had been a patient since February 17.
She was born at Hill City January 16, 1885, a daughter of Edward E. and Elizabeth Ohler Myers. With the exception of 20 years in the Plumer area and 2 years in Avant, Okla., she had spent the greater part of her life in the Van-Cranberry area.
She and William C. Huff were married in 1900. He died October 31, 1956.
Mrs. Huff was an active member of the Cranberry Methodist Church, a member of the Women's Society of Christian Services of the church and the CIC Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Cranberry WCTU.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Walter G. (Gladys) Haupt and Mrs. John A. (Effie) Russell of Plumer, Mrs. Harley J. (Dorothy) Rodgers and Mrs. Ray E. (Ruth) Felmlee of Seneca; a son, Clifton J. Huff of Oil City; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Grant U. Myers of Titusville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Lester (Dorothy) Brumbaugh of Seneca and Mrs. Albert (Evelyn) Risinger of Lucinda, and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Orrin Huff, two brothers, John A. and Lawrence W. Myers, and three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Hazlett, Annie and Effie Myers, are deceased.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel at Franklin any time after 7 p.m. today. The family will received friends there from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Cranberry Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. Ronald L. Chitesler, and Rev. Merle C. Wonderling, pastor of the Seneca Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Brandon Cemetery" Derrick, Oil City, PA Wednesday March 6, 1968, pg 6.
