Lawrence G. Abel Age 95, a Gig Harbor resident since 1978, died July 29th, 2012. Larry was a retired businessman and Master Gardener. He was a WWII veteran and a member of Fox Island Alliance Church. He loved country western music and had a passion for dogs. Throughout his life, he rescued and befriended many stray animals. He was devoted to his wife Olive, who preceded him in death. Family members include his sons Donald, Lyndon (deceased), and Mathew, daughters Atania Gilmore and Katia Ramirez, thirteen grandchildren, and one great-grandson expected in November. A memorial service will be held at Fox Island Alliance Church on August 17th, 2012, at 3 PM, 655 6th Ave., Fox Island, 98333 (253) 549-2831. Remembrances may be made to the church. Arrangements by Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor.
