Shirley Marie Comte Abbott, 83, of Louisiana, formerly of Taylor County, Ky., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, in Louisiana.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, George and Laurella Perser of Ball, La. and Michael Owen Abbott of Kentucky; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Tommy Childers of Michigan; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Comte of Oregon; and a sister, Audrey Whitehead of Campbellsville.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 21 at Griffin Cemetery. The Rev. Don Watson officiated.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Comte Abbott will held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008 at Hosannah Baptist Church, Ball, with Reverend Bennie Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will be in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Abbott, age 83, of Ball entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.
Mrs. Abbott was a native of Michigan. She was a retired country store owner and a retired executive secretary. During WWII she worked at Ford Motor Company as a riveter, building aircraft. She was a member of Hosannah Baptist Church, Ball.
Survivors include two sons, George Perser and his wife Laurella of Ball, Michael Owen Abbott of Kentucky; one daughter, Carol Ann Childers and her husband Tommy of Michigan; one brother, Donald Comte of Oregon; one sister, Audrey Whitehead of Kentucky; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 18, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Hosannah Baptist Church, Ball.
