GERTRUDE VIOLA ABBOTT, 68, of Harrison passed away Monday, Aug. 18 at her home . Gertrude was born April 15, 1940 in Gladwin, the daughter of Harold and Lucille (Pero) Smith. Gertrude was united in marriage to Mr. Wesley W. Abbott on April 5, 1993 in Algoma, Indiana.
Mrs. Abbott had resided in Harrison since 1993, coming from rural Gladwin County. Gertrude enjoyed caring for her family and home. In her free time she enjoyed reading and fishing.
Surviving is her husband; Wesley W. Abbott of Harrison, one son, Bryan Smith and wife Lori of Gladwin; two daughters: Dixie Davis and husband Mike of Harrison and Amy Miner and husband Ken of Cedar Springs, Michigan; four brothers: Russ Smith and wife Joyce of Gladwin, Jim Smith and wife Thelma of Sumter, South Carolina, Bill Smith and wife LaVel of Gladwin and Roy Smith and wife Roxy of Coleman; Michigan, two sistersL Edie Crick of Gladwin and Jo Naugle and husband Jerry also of Gladwin; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her parents.
