Ruby H Abel,84, died of natural causes in a local nursing home. She was born 15 Nov 1915 at the homestead on the Knife River, north of Taylor. She graduated from Taylor High School. She then went to Bismarck Beauty College and worked at a shop in New England,ND.
Ruby met her husband, Keith Abel, and they were married 23 Dec 1938 in Plentywood. The next year they moved to Chinook, and to the west coast in 1941. Later they moved back to Havre where she became a partner with Alice Livingston, in a beauty shop; until early 1990s. Her husband died in Mar 1989.
She lived with her daughter and son-in-law for 2 yrs and then moved to the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home.
Survivors include a son, Keith Abel of Chinook; 2 daughters, Joenne Filicette of Phoenix and Shirley Buhmann of Chinook; a sister Evelyn Miller of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
