Roy Maxwell Abbey
(May 14, 1931 - November 18, 2004)

Funeral services for Mr. Roy Maxwell Abbey will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Indian Bible Church, Elton with the Reverend John Cernek officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery, Elton under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Mr. Abbey, 73, of Elton entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Abbey; two sisters, Stella Abbey and Adeline Battise; one brother, Wilbur Abbey and one niece, B.J. Speth.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three daughters, Shelia Cernek and her husband, Stephen of Gratiot, Wisconsin, Mona Kogel and her husband, James of Livingston, LA and Paula Manuel and her husband, Terrence of Elton; one brother, Edward Abbey of Livingston, Texas; three sisters, Lucille Alexander, Leona Sylestine and Ina Maldonado, all of Livingston, Texas; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Kinder from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2004 and at the Indian Bible Church from 11:00 a.m. until time on service on Saturday, November 20, 2004.
