ROCK SPRINGS - Funeral services and interment for Jimmy Dale Alcorn, 63, will be in Walden, Colo.

He died May 1, 2007 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County after a lengthy illness.

He was born on March 8, 1944 in Eminence, Mo., the son of the late Carl C. and Goldie E. Vermillion Alcorn.

He attended schools in Colorado and Missouri and graduated in 1963. He also attended welding school.

He worked as a rancher and was also a self-employed welder.

His interests included reading, dancing, music, playing guitar, working, riding horses and being out of doors.

He loved his children and his family.

In later years, he thoroughly enjoyed his wheelchair rides around the neighborhood and the drives with his sister, Brenda, and brother-in-law, John. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved to tease and joke about them with his brother-in-law and his many friends.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Dale Alcorn of Denver; two daughters, Theresa of Hayden, Colo., and Brenda of Grand Junction, Colo.; three brothers, Marvin Alcorn and companion, Conrad Alcorn and wife and Jack Alcorn and wife, all of Walden, Colo.; a sister-in-law and her husband, one sister, Brenda Partain and husband of Rock Springs; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lloyd Ralph Alcorn and Carl Thomas Alcorn.
