Mrs. Loretta Cortright, 1217 Exchange, died at 4:20 o'clock Friday afternoon in Newman Memorial County hospital after a sickness of two weeks.

Mrs. Cortright was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, March 21, 1863, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas White. She married Willard Cortright January 2, 1882, in Emporia, and he died November 4, 1922. She had lived in Emporia for the past 30 years, moving here from Chase county.

She is survived by four daughters, Miss Cora Elizabeth Cortright, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Miss Lillie Cortright, of Emporia; Mrs. Bertha Rosebraugh, of Clements and Miss Ruth Cortright, of Sulphur Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the McVey chapel. The Rev. Dean G. Walters, associate minister of the First Methodist church, was in charge. Mrs. W.S. Hancock was the soloist, and she was accompanied by Mrs. H.W. Richmond.

Pallbearers were Guy Rosebraugh, Carl Rosebraugh, Chester Rosebraugh, Henry Slabaugh, Carl Isom and Lawrence Osgood. Burial was in the Cottonwood Cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. R.S. Rosebraugh and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rosebraugh and Chester Rosebraugh, Clements; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Rosebraugh and Leroy, Matfield Green; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Slabaugh and son, Darrel, Cottonwood Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Isom and David Isom, Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Miss Ruth Cortright, Sulpher Springs, Ark.
