Margaret H. Abbott, 86, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama died Monday, December 24, 2007 after a courageous battle with bone cancer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Lakeview Baptist Church on Atlanta Highway at 10:00 A. M. with Rev. Paul Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 Eastern Standard Time in the Lakeview Cemetery in Phenix City, Alabama. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Abbott was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Glenn Abbott; brother, William Robert Hickman; sister, Mary Alice Johnson.

She is survived by three sisters, Joan Oswald, Helen Phillips and Jean McNair (Bill). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Abbott was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her late husband owned and operated a cafe on Broad Street in Eufaula, Alabama for many years. Mr. Abbott would later become Chief of Police in Eufaula and Margaret would become the manager of the Ezells Clothing Store there. They were also long time member of the First Baptist Church of Eufaula.
