JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. Nancy E. King, 73, entered into rest Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. King was a Castlewood, Va., native and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Dennie and Evelyn Cooper Adams. Mrs. King was a homemaker who enjoyed country music, sewing, working crossword puzzles and the joy of her life was her family. She attended Knob Creek Church of The Brethren where she sang in the choir. Mrs. King leaves her husband, Denver King; one daughter, Susan King, Wake Forest, N.C.; one brother, Buddy Adams and wife Janice, Sarasota, Fla.; two sisters, June Burton, Henderson, Ky., and Eleanor Critcher, Richmond, Va.; nieces, Debbie Greenwell, Patti French, Karen Bailey and Ami Thomas; and nephews, Dennie Adams, Willie Adams and Jonathan Critcher. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, until a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. from the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The Rev. Allen Campbell and the Rev. Kenneth Kyker will officiate. Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers will be Larry Simerly, Ron Prince, Charlie Gilley, Victor Kagan, Greg Walters and Danny Hoilman. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Knob Creek Church of The Brethren, 2591 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
