MRS. F.M. ABBOTT PASSES AWAY
Funeral services for Mrs. F. M. Abbott were held this afternoon at 4:30 from the residence of 623 S. Highland, in charge of the Rev. Fred Shaw, minister of Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Elmwood Abbey. Mrs. Abbott died Sunday evening at 7:15 o'clock after a continued illness.
She is survived by her husband and a son, F. M. Abbott, Jr. of Dallas, who with his wife has been in the city for the past week. The Abbotts were among the very early pioneers in Neosho county and the passing of Mrs. Abbott brings grief to many friends both here and in Thayer where they formerly lived. Mr. Abbott arrived in this section of Kansas in 1867 and a year later he was wedded to Miss S. J. Loring of Indiana. They have lived in Kansas all these years and Mrs. Abbott has always taken a deep interest in the work in which her husband was engaged whether in the schools or other kinds of activity.
