Hattie Sockey Jamison
Services for Mrs. Hattie Sockey Jamison, 72, Marietta, who died Tuesday in her home following an illness, are set for 3 p.m., Thursday in the McAlister Baptist Church, Overbrook. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta.
The body is to be in state at the church. Ben Daney, pastor of the church, will preside at the services, assisted by the Rev. Marcellus Williams. Bettes is to direct.
Mrs. Jamison, a native of Leake County, Miss., was born Feb. 26, 1882, and had lived in Carter and Love Counties 50 years.
She is survived by one son, Frank Johnson, Marietta; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Cook and Mrs. Ida Bryant, both of Ardmore; a sister, Mrs. Forrest Farve, Marietta; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also a nephew Jessie Jim and a niece, Mrs. May Reed, who lives south of town.
Serving as bearers are Woodrow Berry, Andrew Berry, Calvin Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Leon Sutherland and Thomas Jim.
