Joakim Hagerup Aasen was born Sept 23 1891 in Norway. He came to the United States in 1908 where he did farm work and later settled on his own farm in Dunn Center. N.D. He married Minnie Sorensen at Miles City June 22, 1914.

They lived on his farm at Dunn Center until 1925 when they moved to Sidney. In 1938 they moved to Trout Creek, and later to Thompson Falls. In 1969 they moved to Savage where they have lived since.

He died May 17 1975 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Sidney.

Survivors include his widow, Minnie; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Cora)Sharbono of Savage; one son, Andrew Aasen of Salem, Ore; one brother, Lester Storedahl of Kalama, Wash.; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mrs. Roy(Selma) Knutson, one grandchild and two brothers.

Funeral services for Joakin (Jack) Aasen, 83 of Savage were held at 2 p.m. May 21 at the First Lutheran Church in Savage with the Rev. Vernon Holmes officiating.

Pallbearers were John Gear, Elver Madsen, Elmer Mastvelten, Don Mastvelten, Joe Micheletto and Elwood Prigan.

Honorary pallbearers were Alvin Maschera and Raymond Mitchell. Vocalists were Joanne Hagler and Sharon Quinnell with Leila Willian, organist. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery. Fulkersn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
