Pallbearers were: Elmer Mastvelten, Don Mastvelten, Lawrence Fitzgerald, George Swisse, Joe Micheletto and Alvin Neese. Ushers were Dennis Schmierer and Gottlieb Schmierer. Music selection were by Joan and Alice Hagler accompanied by Mrs. Leila Willian. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home.
Minnie Aasen was born November 24, 1888 in Decorah, IA the daughter of Hans and Caroline Sorenson. She was raised and attended school in Decorah, and later moved to Dunn Center where her brothers were homesteading. On June 22, 1914 she was united in marriage to Joakim Aasen in Miles City. They returned to her husband's farm in Dunn Center, ND where they lived until 1925 when they moved to Sidney. They lived in Sidney until 1938 when they moved to Trout Creek, and later to Thompson Falls. In 1969 they returned to the Sidney area, settling in Savage. On May 17 1975 her husband died in Sidney and for the past three years Minnie has been a resident at the South Salem Nursing home in Oregon.
Minnie died December 13 1978 at the Salem Nursing Home in Salem, Or.
Surviving her are: one son, Andrew Aasen of Salem, Or; one daughter Mrs. Robert (Cora) Sharbono of Crane; three sisters, Alma Brynsaas, Amelia Carlsborg, Emma Sorenson, all of Decorah IA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, twelve brothers and sisters.
