Marvin was born July 6, 1935, in Sterling, the son of Wilbur and Marian (Swartz) Bollman. He served in the Army. Marvin was an avid collector of toy tractors and trucks. Being a greeter at Walmart was more than a job to Marvin, it was his passion. He enjoyed all of "his" customers and co-workers.
Survivors include his children, Karen Busser of Byron and Steven Bollman of Dixon; three grandchildren, Danielle (Chris) Schindlbeck of Arlington Heights, Benjamin Busser of Oregon and Kayla Busser of Byron; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Schindlbeck; his mother, Marian Bollman of Dixon; two brothers, Dale (Diana) Bollman of Harmon and Frank Bollman of Rock Falls; and one sisterm, Janet (Jim) Warner of Stillman Valley.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one son-in-law, Paul Busser.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Brown, chaplain of Heartland Hospice, officiating. Burial with full military graveside services provided by the combined veterans organizations, will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Dixon.
A memorial has been established to Dixon Veterans Park.
