Hoops - Kettelhurt

A beautiful wedding took place in the St. Peter's Lutheran church (sic) near Byron, on Feb. 19, when Anna Hoops, daughter of Henry Hoops, Sr., became the bride of George Kettelhut, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kettelhut. Rev. Seybold officiated and Rev. Lentz played the wedding march.

Maria Hoops, maid of honor, led the bridal group. She wore a frock of green georgette trimmed with lace and carried an arm bouquet of carnations. Lola Hoops and Vivian Renz, flower girls, wore dresses of yellow voile. They carried a basket of sweet peas. The bride was attired in a gown of white crepe back satin trimmed with lace and beads. Her veil was caught up by a wreath made of diamond-shaped squares trimmed with waxed flowers and rhinestones. Her bouquet consisted of roses carnations, sweet peas and baby's breath. The groom wore a dark blue serge suit. Ida Kettelhut, bridesmaid, wore a frock of all-over lace. Fred Hoops was best man.

A reception was given at the bride's home to about 50 relatives. They received many useful and beautiful gifts. They will make their home on a farm southeast of Byron.
