Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Mary was born December 7, 1919, in Garrison, to Anton and Anna (Ubl) Kastner. She attended Garrison schools and married Walter Fischer at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on October 15, 1940. Together, they farmed and raised dairy cattle 8 miles west of Garrison.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. For years she was passionate about gardening, raising farm animals, cooking, and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Mary will be greatly missed by her friends and family, most especially by her husband Walter whose last request of her was: "Leave the gate open, Ma. I'm not far behind."
