Lillian Teresa Heft was born on January 8, 1903 to Henry John and Martha Ann Schonschack Heft. After completing her education, Lillian worked at Wyandotte Chemical in the capacity as Secretary to the Autitor. She married William C. Hartmann, Jr., on June 5, 1924 in Wyandotte, Michigan. From this union came a daughter, Beatrice Lillian and 2 sons, Henry John who died at birth and William C.III.Lillian was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as it's Worthy Matron in Plymouth, Michigan in 1942 and 1943. She was also Grand Organist for O.E.S. and was a member of the Woman's Club and Woman's National Farm & Garden Association.Lillian died at the age of 94 on July 6, 1997 and is buried next to her husband in Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.
