Funeral services for Wayne Rust will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 15 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. Doug Carver will be officiating.

Visitation has been scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Ertel Chapel from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Wayne was born on May 5, 1932 in Cortez and raised in Lewis, the son of Glen D. and Billie Maxine (Kennedy) Rust. He passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at his home in Cortez at the age of 72.

On August 1, 1952 in Cortez, Wayne married Bonnie Lou Carver. He spent his career as a heavy equipment operator. Wayne enjoyed his work. During his pastime Wayne liked fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He remained an active member of his community his entire life. Wayne served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for 21 years. He was well respected, honest, and had a tremendous work ethic. He will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving Wayne are his children, Danny Rust of Mesa, Ariz., Cindy Rust Durall and husband, Gerry of Cortez, Coral Loyd and husband, Danny of Kingman, Ariz., Todd Rust and wife, Rhonda of Chappell, Neb., and Scott Rust and wife, Seleena of Kingman, Ariz. He leaves his grandchildren, Larry and Brenda Rust, Gary and Sarah Rust, Simeon Rust, Erica and David Robinson, Kerri and Jerry Orr, Amanda Rust, D.J. Loyd, Bailey, Payton and Paige Rust, Zach, Brittni, Nicole, Dallas and Dakota Knudsen-Rust; and his great-grandchildren, Braden Robinson-Rust, and Chase Rust. Also surviving Wayne are his siblings, Maxine Baker and husband, Don of Takysie Lake, British Columbia, Canada, and Donald Rust of Cortez. He leaves behind many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Bonnie Lou Carver Rust in 1999.
