DIGHTON - Samuel D. Martin, 87, died Sunday
at Lane County Rest Home.

Born Nov. 8, 1891 in Greeley County, he
married Minnie Rockwell April 27, 1913 at
Dighton. She died in 1975.

He was retired operator of Dighton Co-op,
living here since 1916.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Dighton.

Survivors: daughters: Mrs. Marie Adams, Mrs.
Mattie Hartman, both of Shields; Mrs. Betty
Knauf, Bowie, Texas; brothers: Roy, Overland
Park; Hugh, Wilmington, Calif.; Wallace,
Costa Mesa, Calif.; Walter, Florence,
Colo.; George, North Hollywood, Calif.;
sister: Mrs. Mamie Sheffield, Los
Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the
church; the Rev. Joe Tempfer. Burial in
Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Family suggests
memorials to the Lane County Long Term Care
Home or the church in care of Niles-Zenor
Funeral Home, Dighton.
