Richard Abernathy, age 48 of Dawsonville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004 at North Fulton Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Cherokee County, he had lived in Dawson County over 25 years having moved from Norcross. Mr. Abernathy was a former employee of Dawson County, and was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Abernathy.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Marcia Abernathy of Grand Bay, Al. and Steve and Wynell Abernathy of Ball Ground; and nieces, Smantha and Elizabeth Abernathy.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. from Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Buchanan officiating. Interment was in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
