W.L."Pete" Adams, 91, of Amarillo, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Landrum Medlock officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Clayton Cemetery at Clayton, N.M. with the Rev. Bob Boyd of First United Methodist Church in Clayton officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia

Mr. Adams was born in Dallam County. He graduated from Dalhart High School and attended the University of Colorado. During World War II he served in the Navy aboard
the USS Makin Island in the Pacific.

He retired from Cornell and Company as an accountant in 1982. He was a Rotarian, a Mason and a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, where he taught the
Homebuilders Sunday school class.

Mr. Adams was married to Maurine England in 1932 at Clayton. She died in May 2000. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Adams, in 1940; and by a son, Larry Adams,in 1935.

Survivors include four daughters, Janet Wheeler of El Paso, Beth Serratt and Karen Adams-Smith, both of Amarillo and Deanne Knotts of Clayton; a son, James D. "Jim" Adams of Amarillo; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and a great—great granddaughter.
