“... A Fine Family Gone
“... The Gorrell family was a very popular one. Mr. Gorrell had been employed here for eleven years as an automobile painter, and for several years he has been with the Buick agency, first for the Hill Buick company and then remaining with the business when it was purchased by John . Cain & Son. Before that he worked for E. J. Schoenfeldt. ... John Gorrell probably was one of the best known automobile painters of this entire section of the country, according to John H. Cain of the John H. Cain & Son Motor Co. ‘He was an artist in his line of work, Cain said today. ‘Mr. Gorrell was a splendid man with a host of friends in the city, it was a pleasure to be associated with him, for he had a magnetic personality which made and held friends. His auto painting was of such high class that he had a remarkably large number of patrons who insisted on him personally doing their work. The death of Mr. Gorrell and his family has been a terrible shock to his associates here.’ ...”
