Her parents might be John Stye and Susanna Lincoln who m. 6 Mar. 1816 in Craven Co., NC (may be Pamlico Co. today).

Susan remarried 16 Mar. 1867 to Michael Linton in Craven Co., NC (later Pamlico Co.) by Rev. Edward A. Wilson.

1870 U.S. Census for Craven Co. (later Pamlico Co.), NC (14 July) lived near "Alfred's Store":

Technically, the Swan children retained their father's surname.

The Susan Swan Linton estate papers made a mistake in noting that her maiden name was "Swann". She died w/o a Will ca May 1892 and the Administrator's Oath signed 13 May 1892 states that Charles Swann and "Nannie" Flours [her granddaughter, dghtr Susan's child] are her heirs and is signed by Charles Swan (note only 1 "n" in surname as his signature attests). This document is in her Estate Papers in the Craven Co., NC Courthouse. It further states on another page that Sarah Albritton Ives, Nannie Flours, & Charles Swan are her heirs and entitled to direct tax of $21.12 paid by Susan Linton.
