Opal M. Abbott, 90, of Kingsley died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley, with the Rev. Michael Gruhn officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:435 p.m. Thursday in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Abbott was born Feb. 8, 1908, in Mountain Grove, Mo., the daughter of Clarence and Lillie M. (Bosley) Ellington.
She married Ronald B. Abbott on May 26, 1949, in Marysville, Kan. The couple moved to Trenton, Mo. In 1954 they moved to Ponca, Neb.
After retirement in 1974 they traveled before moving to Newberry Springs, Calif., in 1986. They returned to Kingsley in 1997.
Mrs. Abbott entered Kingsley Nursing and Rehab in September 1997.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, William "Bill" of Newberry Springs, Wayne and his wife, Norma, of Kingsley, Jim of Mondamin, Iowa, and Ronnie and his wife, Nancy, of Omaha, Neb.; a brother, Carl Ellington of Trenton, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-granddchildren; a niece and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia "Pat" Acuff Golane and Ruby Farr; two brothers, Ernest and L.W. Ellington; and three grandchildren, Rich, Sandy and Gale Abbott.
