Maggie Ellen (Abbott) Sullivan Hartsock, 83, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Saturday (August 18, 2012) at Kirksville Manor Care.

The daughter of Avery Richard and Minnie Maggie (VanHoose) Abbott, she was born January 16, 1929 in Connelsville, Missouri. On March 17, 1950 in Kirksville, Maggie was united in marriage to Jessie Sullivan who preceded her in death in September of 1977.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jessie Jr. Sullivan and three sisters.

Maggie is survived by three sons, William Sullivan and Richard Sullivan both of Kirksville, MO and Roger Sullivan of Jefferson City, MO; one daughter, Carline Sullivan of Seattle, WA; one brother, Richard Abbott of Jefferson City, MO; five grandchildren, Christopher Sullivan, Scott Sullivan, Melissa Sullivan, Marla Kehrberg and DJ Berg, as well as six great-grandchildren, Montanah, Ryleigh, Kyleigh, Joseph, Avin and Alyssa.

Maggie was a lifelong resident of Adair County, receiving her education in the Connelsville rural school. She was employed a number of years at Grim-Smith Hospital and was a cook at several area restaurants including, May Fair, Shrine Club and the Shamrock.

She loved cooking and her pets, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (August 21, 2012) at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, with Reverend Gonda Manning presiding.

No public visitation will be held.

Arrangements will be under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
