Mr. Gaskins was born January 30, 1928, in Huger, SC, a son of Ed Gaskins and
Belle Raybourne Gaskins. For many years, he was a deacon of Hopewell Baptist
Church.
He was survived by his wife, Evelyn Louise Gaskins Gaskins; two daughers,
Geraldine Crowley and Joyce Mauldin, both of Moncks Corner; five sons, Edson D.
Gaskins Jr., Dennis Gaskins, and Michael Gaskins, all of Huger, Zanny Gaskins
and Billy Jason Gaskins, both of Macedonia; a sister, Agnes Ackerman of
Shulerville; a brother, G. Hazel Gaskins of Huger; eighteen grandchildren and
nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, May 14, 2004, in Hopewell Baptist Church, Huger.
Burial, directed by Dial-Murray Funeral Home, followed in the church cemetery.
